Meet the Doctor

Originally hailing from Daytona Beach, Dr. Hamer returned to Florida after graduating from Chiropractic school at Life University in Marietta, Ga. In addition to her chiropractic doctorate, she holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology. Dr. Hamer is not only licensed in the state of Florida, but holds a license in Georgia and South Carolina. 

In 2007 Dr. Erika Hamer passed the neurology board exam from the International Board of Chiropractic Neurology. Following three years of postgraduate studies in the neurology program, Dr. Hamer sat for the two-day exam in October 2006, which involved both written and practical portions.  Being a Chiropractic Neurologist is an elite honor held by only a few hundred chiropractic physicians around the world. This new designation--Diplomate of the International Board of Chiropractic Neurology--qualifies her to perform extensive neurological exams similar to those conducted by a medical neurologist. The benefit Dr. Hamer offers over traditional medical treatment is that she will diagnose and treat neurological patients without drugs or surgery. Dr. Hamer treats both spinal and peripheral conditions. “The brain and body must communicate effectively; when they don’t it can cause many symptoms, including neurological dysfunction,” Dr. Hamer said. “I treat the cause of the problem by correcting body structure and removing nerve interference.”  Dr. Hamer completed her  licensure in Neuro Electrodiagnostics in February 2009. While she is trained to perform and interpret the same Nerve Conduction and EMG studies as medical neurologists, this training will permit her to offer these specialized services as part of her own practice. These services are available and have been utilized and performed on current patients and patients referred from other doctors in the North East Florida area for the past year.
